Genealogy Databases
A database is a very useful tool. The types of databases that we are used to are: lists of surnames, census, voters records, land records, or family history indexes. Some databases are very large like those found at Ancestry.com, and some are small. Most of the databases listed here are free for the looking and those charging fees have been noted. Be wary of any site that claims to be free and then asks for your credit card number to access the “free trial”. Some sites will require you to register with them and if you do not wish your email to be spammed with junk, you might want to have a second disposable email address to use for such “free registrations”
