    These links are not to surname web pages, but to pages with online published genealogy books. They are of benefit to those members doing research on similar names or in specific areas and are free so you do not need to purchase the information in book form if you do not wish to. According to this published work, most of the American people named Blackshear [negroes excepted] or any variant thereof, have descended from Robert Blackshaw, first documented as son of Thomas and Ellenor of Piscataway, N.
